Melanie’s Final Soccer Game
Melanie’s soccer season came and went pretty quickly. Normally we had a 15 minute warm up, followed by a game with two 20 minute halves separated by a 5 minute snack break. You always know when the snack break is approaching because more and more of the kids are eating dandelions or wandering off. And the second half is always very hard to keep a full line out because everyone is soooo tired!
The final game was a little different because we had to stop early to turn in all the team gear and hand out medals and photos to all the kids. To do that we played one long 30 minute game instead of the two 20 minute halves. As you can imagine it was chaos and pretty much a free for all for anyone that actually wanted to be on the field to play!
The awards ceremony was pretty cute and everyone was very excited to receive their participation medals. Melanie was especially excited because her “teacher” Robin showed up to watch her last game too!
