Outdoor Swimming Lessons
Melanie has been taking swimming lessons at the local outdoor pool every morning for the last two weeks. It has been pretty chilly here in the mornings lately but the pool is heated so she hasn’t been complaining about the cold at all.
I was lucky enough to have the day off on Friday and got to go see her last lesson. Her instructor for this set was clearly the best instructor she has had all year, and she made some huge gains (The moms all seemed to enjoy him too…). This is about the 5th time that she has repeated the same level (Salamander), and I’m not actually convinced that she did all the required skills this time either, but they recommended that she move up to the next level!
She has always loved swimming but her confidence has really improved lately. We took her to the pool for family swim last weekend and she was swimming around all by herself (with a lifejacket on) which she had never done before. She was also leaping into the pool from the edge, even into the deep end!Next stop: Sunfish!
