Vacation in Jamaica — Day 4

Jamaica Day 4

I’m sorry these are taking so long to get out, but I’ve been crazy busy lately and the photos are taking longer to go through than I expected. And I’m finding more keepers than I expected too (which is a good thing, but makes it more time consuming to process!). Anyway, I’ll try to get this trip wrapped up in the next couple of days.

So day 4 was a very typical day for us in Jamaica. We got up and went for breakfast. we dropped the kids off at kids camp and went scuba diving (two dives today). When we got off the boat we picked the kids up from camp and went for lunch. After lunch it was pouring rain so we decided to go to the beach! Really!

It rained for a little while most of the afternoons that we were there, so we didn’t let the weather change our activities at all! Actually, the rain usually cleared out the beach so we had our pick of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Some of the other guests complained a bit about the rain, but it was still warm and Melanie wanted to play in the water for hours anyway, so it really didn’t bother us…

We enjoyed another beautiful sunset before heading to the Italian restaurant for dinner. Dinner was nothing spectacular, and in fact the only reason that dinner was even memorable for me was that this restaurant was the only place on the entire resort that gave me a hard time for being barefoot. I actually had to go back to the room to get my sandals before they would let me in!

After dinner we spent a short time at the main stage watching the nightly show (I honestly don’t remember what it was) before heading back to the room for dessert on our patio and bedtime for the kids.

Andrew had a hard time falling asleep many of the nights that we were there, and so I often put him in the stroller and took him for a walk up and down the beach (and repeated that in the middle of the night or early in the morning many times too!). This night was the first time that I saw the Yellow-Crowned Night Heron on the beach, and over the next few days it became a bit of an obsession for me to get a picture of this beautiful bird. I finally got it a couple days later!

Anyway that’s all for another wonderful day in paradise!
