We were fortunate to be able to take a summer vacation in late August this year and we took the opportunity to take a drive through Western Canada to see my sister Heidi and her family in 100 Mile House, BC. Yes, it's actually called that, and it was named because it was located 100 Miles from Lillooet, BC, which was Mile 0 of the Cariboo Wagon Road. As promised, here are a bunch of pictures of our Christmas celebrations. We were cautiously optimistic that Melanie would still be too young to get up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning. Wrong. She came into our room at 5:15 screaming that "Santa came, Santa came!!!" We told her to go back to bed, and shockingly she actually did. Everybody loves to have family around at Christmas, but it's also pretty nice to be able to just hang out at home over the holidays. While we are planning to drive to Kelowna to visit Sean's family on Boxing Day, we decided to enjoy a quiet Christmas at home with just our immediate family.We started it all off with a nice family meal and a cozy fire on Christmas Eve.
