Camping in Jasper

We went camping on the Labor Day long weekend with Sean's Parents and also Sean's sister Heidi and her family. Although it rained on and off all weekend we had a great trip and it was fun to hang out with the family. We camped at a rustic campsite near the Icefields Parkway called Wabasso. We did lots of chillaxing around camp, but we also did a few field trips to see some of the sights and sounds of Jasper. Carving Pumpkins at Grandma’s House

We were at Grandma's house for thanksgiving and my Sean's brother Roger and his family came to visit as well. Melanie was excited as soon as we told her that her cousin Jackson would be there. They have been nearly inseparable since we arrived and it's been lots of fun to be here together. One highlight of the trip is when Grandma brought out pumpkins for the three cousins to carve for Halloween!

Portraits at the Zoo

I've been doing a lot of portrait photography lately, especially of families and kids. So I guess that was still on my mind as we were preparing to go to the zoo this morning and I only chose one lens to take with me; my favorite portrait lens. The fall colors are in full swing here in Calgary and the low angle of the sunlight has been incredibly beautiful, even at the times during the day when it's usually hard to find good light (mid day for you non-photographers out there).
