I took the kids down to see the memorial crosses that have been erected along Memorial Drive (in Calgary) in honour of all of the fallen soldiers with ties to Calgary. Over 1500 crosses were placed this year. While very sad, it is also really quite amazing to see, and it was really nice to be able to take the kids there and to try to explain to them what it was all about. Andrew really didn’t understand at all, but Melanie is starting to get it, and to understand how terrible it all really is…

We ended the trip by meeting Louise for lunch downtown. We went to the Food Court at Eau Claire Market which has a fun indoor playground. As you might imagine that was a huge hit!
