Louise and her brother Rob have been training all summer for Ride the Rideau, a 100 km bike ride to raise money for cancer care and treatment at the Ottawa Hospital. They did the ride in memory of their father John (who passed away July 13th, 2012) and together they raised over $4,000. The grand total for the ride was over $2,000,000 which is nothing short of amazing!

I really can't believe it but my little girl turned 8 yesterday. She's growing up so fast! We spent most of the day yesterday preparing for her party which was her first sleepover party. We had 7 eight year old girls here for dinner, partying, and a sleepover. They made their own pizzas, painted nails, played games, had a Wii Dance Party, and of course we did a photobooth as well. Everyone had a great time and they even got some sleep last night. We topped it all off with pancakes with whipped cream for breakfast. …

It was my son Andrew's fourth birthday this week and we had a party for him yesterday. One of the things the kids got to do at the party was to paint and decorate a picture frame. If you have kids you've probably seen this before... your child comes home from a party or event with a really nice picture frame and months (or years) later it's still sitting there with no picture in it.
