We took the kids to the annual Calgary Hitmen Teddy Bear Toss last weekend. In case you don’t know what this is, it was a WHL Junior hockey league game between the Calgary Hitmen and the Kootenay Ice that was also the annual Teddy Bear Toss, in which the fans throw teddy bears and other stuffed animals onto the ice after the first Hitmen goal. The collected toys were to be given to needy children through the Salvation Army and other charities. Over 14,000 stuffies were collected this year, and it was pretty amazing to watch them being thrown down from the stands to be collected on the ice below.
Andrew wasn’t very happy about throwing his Teddy Bear down, but he eventually got over it and giggled as he saw it fly down!
