Esso Family Fun Day
After camping all weekend we rushed back to Calgary to go to an Esso family function at Spruce Meadows. We met up with Pam Miller (with Ryan and Paige) and Jen Koert and hung out with them for the afternoon. We had a nice lunch followed by pony rides, a barn tour, and some serious playing on the playground. Not too serious though as Melanie was pretty tired already…
There was also a show jumping competition happening, and we watched a few of the jumpers, but it’s not really a kid thing to watch so we moved on as soon as lunch was over.
The most interesting part of the event was discovering the fully stocked family center. This place has it all for new mothers and young kids… Nursing rooms, toys and games, Toddler sized bathrooms and sinks, and even a fully stocked diaper changing room with every imaginable size of diaper, lotion, sunscreen, and whatever else you might need. All for free! Last year when we were at the same event we were asking somebody what the normal cost of admission is and the answer was “Oh, they don’t need your money here!”
