This is a note that Louise sent to her immediate family upon our return from our recent trip to Jamaica… Maybe I’m posting it here a little late (due to the web site issues) but I wanted  to share it so those of you that haven’t already heard about our trip (and Fergus) get it here…  As an update to what’s written below, Fergus is at home and he is recovering well!

Just a quick note to let you know we are all home.  Much to Melanie’s pleasure, we had an extra night in a hotel in Toronto on our way home due to a ground crew strike in Montego Bay.  Too bad they didn’t put us up in Jamaica!

The trip was wonderful.  Melanie had the best time ever.  She swam for at least 4 hours a day, made sand castles and even had fun at kid’s camp.  She met lots of Sesame street characters and even went up and ordered her own drink at the kids bar.  Andrew ate sand and made many friends with his smiling face.  He slept lots at the nursery.  Sean and I got to go diving and the highlight was seeing dolphins in the wild!  It was a little bit cloudy and rainy at times but that didn’t stop us.  In fact, it wasn’t until the sun came out that we realized how thankful we were that it was cloudy.  Wow did it get hot.

Of course hundreds of photos have been taken and Sean is trying to get the website running again before he deals with them.  Hopefully he can fix it soon!

The only glitch on our trip was that Fergus got very sick on the day we were coming home.  He was rushed to the emergency vet and was diagnosed with bloat (a twisted stomach).  The vet called Patti (our emergency contact) and she was told that they had to operate or he’d die.  They went ahead with the operation and he came through it okay.  He is still recovering at the vet and he should be coming home today.  We’re thankful he’s okay and we’ll recover from the shock of the bill in due time.

Well, I’d better get back to laundry and the return to reality.
